Just wanted to thank Mark at The Cud Life for such a warm and friendly welcome 😁 letting us hand feed the chickens was amazing 😍 really peaceful campsite, beautiful views, really clean facilities. Lots of extra added touches like hairdryer, walking routes printed out, even books, and GHD straighteners make your stay even more perfect 👌🏻location is perfect for getting to Harrogate, Knaresborough and Ripley. Bus stop about 10 minutes away. Looking forward to visiting in the summer and exploring more of the surrounding area. See u soon, luv Sarah, Nikki and Marlo 🐾

We stayed here for the first time this weekend. We was warmly welcomed by Rachael , the site is great, well spaced pitches and all overlooking open fields. The facilities are good, clean and a great cafe onsite!. It's perfectly placed between Harrogate and Ripon. There are lots of information about walks etc in the area. We will definitely be back next year ( when its warmer weather hopefully!) For longer than a weekend. Thanks again!

Camping in a campervan. Small campsite, very clean toilets and showers. Close to Harrogate, 30 minutes walk and a bus journey from ripon or train journey to York, Leeds and Knaresborough. Owner/ campsite warden very friendly and helpful. Cafe on site. Toilets/ showers ( free) very clean. Hairdryer and straighteners supplied for free use. Would definitely return

Arrived here and what a great little site. Stunning views, great facilities and walks to die for. They provide some great routes and Mark there is super helpful. Oddly the site has a cracking little Cafe on site that looks really nice. Cross country walk to Harrogate isn’t pretty but easy ish, bus goes from the site entrance, £3 each one way. Cycle track to Knaresborough over the viaduct is ace.

The cud life is a lovely peaceful site within easy reach of Harrogate. The site is well kept with good general cleanliness throughout. The manager is a friendly approachable guy and will answer any questions that he can. There is a lovely one mile walk to the know pub where good food and ales can be found. There is a handy cafe on site and a regular bus route at the end of the drive that will take you into Harrogate, Leeds or Ripon at regular intervals. Definitely worth a visit here.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here on our way back from Scotland and really wish we had stayed longer! The warm welcome and lovely special touches made us feel instantly comfortable - Rachel and Matt are friendly and approachable hosts, their two boys are also very polite and helpful. We stayed in Buttercup Byre, which has all the homely comforts you need and perfect for a relaxing holiday. It had plenty of room for 4 (plus the dog!) and as it only has a few small steps it was great for my dad who has mobility issues. The cottage is absolutely spotless, as is all the grounds. We really enjoyed our time here and would stay again.

Came here as a couple with our 2 small dogs. Having arrived a bit early we went to the cafe and had a sneaky cake and coffee before setting up. Mark (who is wonderful) greeted us and showed us to our pitch, which was in a prime spot (thank you) nicely sheltered given the storm that was imminent. He was available on site most of the time, and to be honest it was lovely and quiet. A lot of throughly and effort has gone into the site, from the small details in the facility block, local walk details etc to the consistent messaging! Had a thoroughly lovely time here and the site is perfect for us as it is so close to all of my family who live in Harrogate! Side note - If you are staying there take the time to go to Coldstone’s cut - I saw it on a poster in the shower block - it’s well worth it.

Fantastic caravan site, we love the peace and quiet. It's always spotlessly clean and tidy and they don't try to pack everyone in to maximise the income. The kids are free to play and have fun without the need for a play area. It means they make their own fun with plenty of room to play games. We love this site and keep coming back!

We stayed for a long weekend at Buttercup Byre. Really comfortable little cottage with everything we needed. Rachel was really helpful before hand making sure we knew it would work in terms of accessibility- there are very few ground floor places to stay in this area! Lovely view from the living room with friendly cows just across from the patio. The cafe was brilliant on Saturday morning too!

We stayed at this lovely campsite at the end of March 2025 ... the new owners took over the day we arrived! Despite the inevitable stress involved with completing on their purchase they were super friendly and made us very welcome. The site is very well maintained with beautiful views. The toilet and shower block was thoughtful equipped, not only was there a hairdryer, but GHD's as well! The bus to Harrogate goes from the end of the lane and is well worth a visit. Highly recommend this great little site and wish the new owners the success they deserve :)
